New Balance and Coco Gauff are getting ready to drop a brand new colorway of the tennis star’s first signature sneaker, the New Balance Coco CG1. Making its debut tomorrow, here are official images of the New Balance Coco CG1 Twisted Net.
Debuting just in time for the French Open, the Twisted Net iteration of the New Balance Coco CG1 is inspired by the tennis net, but with an artistic spin. The sneaker takes Coco’s love of social media and warping the net found on a tennis court with cyberspace as it incorporates flashes of crisp blues and greens as a way to pay tribute to the je ne sais quoi found throughout classic French fashion. What you end up getting is a futuristic, edgy twist to Coco’s signature shoe. As far as the overall aesthetic of the sneaker goes, the New Balance Coco CG1 is much more than just a tennis shoe with Coco Gauff’s name attached. The shoe deviates from the traditional simple, low-cut court silhouette with a combination of serious, on-court performance features that are geared towards a speedy, power-driven game and an infusion of basketball and 1990s design inspiration.
Retailing for $170, the New Balance Coco CG1 Twisted Net is set to release on May 26th at select New Balance retailers and NewBalance.com.
In other news, the Air Jordan 14 Laney makes its debut this weekend.
